Coworking

What is coworking?

Well we like to think of coworking as a community of individuals all doing interesting things and all working out of the same space. Coworking is about sharing ideas, resources, and skills. At The Grove we intentionally cultivate an ecology that supports the values of coworking: collaboration, openness, community, accessibility, and sustainability. At The Grove you will find both nonprofits and for-profits working side-by-side and many times working together. For us it is about far more than space it’s about community.

According to Wikipedia, “coworking is an emerging trend for a new pattern of working. Coworking is the social gathering of a group of people, who are still working independently, but who share values and who are interested in the synergy that can happen from working with talented people in the same space.” We believe the social mission sector can benefit from coworking through providing shared space, an innovative environment, and facilitating networking. We hope this leads to collaborative efforts that create systemic solutions to today’s pressing challenges. For more of our ideas on coworking click here. At The Grove we believe in creating an environment of shared values. We are part of a movement of people trying to value not only the bottom line, but our communities, our environment, and our world. Click here to learn more about our values.

    How We Work

We use a light touch in our community with opportunities for individuals to discover their own participation level. People choose how they want to move in and out of engagement with the community in a way they find comfortable and natural. We work hard to nurture a participatory culture where everyone feels welcome to bring their ideas and make their contribution.
